From the home soils of Trentham Cliffs in New South Wales, comes Friends of Mine - a collaboration between father & daughter. Grape-growing and wine-making runs deep in the Murphy family - Anthony Murphy, a winemaker of 40+ years and his daughter Renee working in wine sales and marketing for the family winery. With a passion for creating great wines at an affordable price, they have created this bright and bold new range - Friends of Mine. This small-batch collection of wines celebrates a love of travel and pays tribute to the experiences encountered along the way. A concept derived from Renee’s unconditional love of exploring the world and all its beauty.
The Murphy’s have a long-established history in grape-growing, dating back over 100 years. Friends of Mine uses fruit from the family vineyards in the heart of Australia. The 45 hectares of vineyards are situated on the riverbank at Trentham Cliffs, in south-western New South Wales. The ideal terroir of red loam over limestone soils, combined with nurturing water from the Murray River, allows the vines to flourish. With sunny days and mild nights with star-filled skies, it presents the ideal growing conditions.
Early harvested to retain as much natural acidity as possible in the very cool of the night through late January. We are looking for the Chardonnay to be past the green stages with lovely bright zingy acidity.
The region enjoyed a typical start to a warm and dry growing season with little rainfall in November and December, and average spring temperatures evolving into a near-perfect summer growing cycle. The slightly lower yields have resulted in exceptional fruit ripeness and show an exquisite concentration of aromas and flavours.
The fruit was pressed cold, settled, and roughly racked to retain some lees for fermentation and maturation, to create some creamy textural elements to the wine. The juice was then fermented cool with Champagne yeast for about 2 weeks, then held cool on lees until bottling.
This celebratory wine is made in a blanc de blanc style, with zesty lime notes, white peach, and fresh citrus.
A delicate wine to be enjoyed with canapes and soft cheeses.

Chardonnay is one of the most widely planted grape varieties in the world. A versatile variety that can produce a broad range of styles from light and lean to full and rich. Our style is shaped by the ripeness of fruit at harvest and the winemaker’s techniques.

Once harvested, the fruit was crushed and pressed, and the juice cold settled and racked to ferment. The ferment was carried out with selected yeast with a portion fermented in 500L French oak puncheons. After 8 months the wine was blended and bottled.

The Shiraz fruit used in this rose all comes from our very own Estate vineyard from vines planted in 2007. The grapes ripened slowly and evenly to result in great fruit quality. The fruit was harvested in the very early hours of the morning while at its coolest.
The cracker year goes down as one of the best – mild weather with just a smattering of rain to keep everything fresh. Initial flavours in the vineyard flowed to an early pick which enabled a slightly lower alcohol with wonderful flavour ripeness.
The grapes were picked, de-stemmed and chilled on the way to the press. Using only the light pressings, then clarified and fermented at relatively cool temperatures, which drove a longer fermentation.
This light, dry rose shows soft red fruits of pomegranate, cranberry and fresh strawberry.
A great sipping wine enjoyed just by itself or with anything from the ocean – oysters, prawns or chilli mussels.

Pinot Noir makes some of the most famous wines in the world yet is a challenging variety; temperamental in the vineyard and needs nurturing in the winery. Picked from our best vineyard, the grapes ripened slowly and evenly to result in great fruit quality.
Vintage conditions leading up to and during the 2019 vintage were warm and dry resulting in restricted crop levels. The vines did not suffer during these periods and quality was maintained. We consider the fruit from the 2019 vintage to be of excellent quality with plenty of aromatics and flavour.
The grapes were de-stemmed and chilled at 5⁰C for 36 hours – a winemaking technique called cold-soaking. Cold soaking is used to increase the red berry characters in the wine. Yeast was then added and the wine was fermented on skins for 5 days before pressing out. A portion of the wine was matured in French oak for 8 months before blending and bottling.
Crimson red showing spicy cherry and strawberry notes with soft fine tannins.
An excellent choice with an antipasto plate, tomato-based pasta and almost any duck dish.
